COMMENTARY
Let’s dissect. If the concept is listed, it’s germane to the discussion.
REPUBLIC & RULE OF LAW. The USA is a REPUBLIC, governed by RULE OF LAW. The law applies to all citizens, and persons who have illegally entered our country.
‘TAKE A KNEE’ PROTEST. The predominantly black NFL players engaging in the ‘TAKE A KNEE’ PROTEST are taking a strategic, ideological stance that derives its concept from the overall movement, known as Black Lives Matter, aka BLM.
BLACK LIVE MATTER MOVEMENT. BLM asserts that a.) cops nationwide are indiscriminately killing black people, and that such cop killings are unwarranted, and unlawful, and an unlawful use of force, b.) that black people are oppressed, c.) that black people are still oppressed in the post-slavery, post-racial segregation era of affirmative action, d.) that cops are pigs, in the pejorative, or negative sense, example: “fry ’em like bacon, pigs in a blanket” and “kill the cops” and other chants, e.) reparations to the black community as a whole are necessary, rightful, and owed to the black community, f.) prison abolition is a warranted remedy for blacks who have been charged, tried and incarcerated.
RACE. RULE OF LAW applies to all citizens, of all races and colors, i.e., black, brown, red, white, yellow,
